Deputy General Counsel - Remote

Overview

The Deputy General Counsel at Sentient will be a one-person team, responsible for managing day-to-day legal operations, ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions, and collaborating closely with cofounders and cross-functional teams.

• Work as an advisor on all legal matters, especially corporate and product-related issues.
• Draft and negotiate unique agreements for products and collaborations.
• Provide legal guidance on product development and compliance.

Requirements

• J.D. degree from a top-tier law school and admission to at least one state bar.
• 4-8 years of experience at a reputable law firm and/or in-house.
• Superior negotiation and drafting skills.
• Strong skills in contract drafting and compliance management.
• Excellent academic credentials and references.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with teams and stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
• M&A background is a plus.
• Understanding of open source AI space is a plus.
