Overview

The Mental Health Associate performs direct and indirect patient care activities for mental health patients under the supervision of a registered nurse, while ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Level Degree in Education, Sociology, or Psychology (Required).
  • 4 years of behavioral health experience may substitute for degree.
  • 1-year experience in Behavioral Health (Preferred).
  • Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Ability to lead groups and manage patient care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to patient safety and therapeutic environment.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of mental health issues and treatment options.
  • Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development.
