Overview

As a Software Development Engineer within the staff level at Sagent, you will play a crucial role in the development, implementation, and maintenance of software systems. Leveraging your theoretical knowledge base and extensive experience, you will contribute to all stages of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to high-level system design.

In Short

• Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and CICS.
• Analyze user requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Write, test, debug, and deploy high-quality code in a z/OS environment.
• Provide L2/L3 support for mainframe applications.
• Use mainframe debugging tools to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Monitor application performance using tools like OMEGAMON.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze the impact of software changes.
• Document technical designs, procedures, and support guides.
• Participate in code reviews and performance tuning.
• Support Azure Monitor configuration and alerting for hybrid environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in mainframe application development and support.
• Proficient in COBOL, JCL, CICS, and VSAM.
• Experience with DB2 and z/OS/z/VM operating systems.
• Hands-on experience with tools like File Manager and Fault Analyzer.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Basic experience with Azure Monitor.
