Overview

The Certified Medical Coder represents Roots Community Health Center, providing support to the Director of Billing and collaborating with providers and the billing team to ensure accurate medical coding and billing processes.

In Short

• Temporary position for 6 months.
• Code office visits and procedures using CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Audit and review coding in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Manage coding platforms and make recommendations for accuracy.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, with Billing/Coding Certification.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in medical billing and claims review.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and coding processes.
• Knowledge of payer-specific claims management.
• Experience with Electronic Health Record systems.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with diverse communities.
