Tax Accountant & Bookkeeper (U.S. Taxes) - Remote

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Accountant & Bookkeeper with strong knowledge of U.S. tax preparation and hands-on expertise in QuickBooks Online (QBO). The ideal candidate will handle daily bookkeeping tasks while also preparing accurate and compliant U.S. tax filings. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent organization, and the ability to manage multiple financial responsibilities efficiently.

In Short

• Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for individuals or businesses using QuickBooks Online.
• Record and categorize transactions, reconcile bank and credit card accounts, and maintain accurate ledgers.
• Handle AP/AR, invoicing, billing, and payroll entries.
• Prepare monthly financial reports such as Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
• Maintain organized digital financial records for easy review and audits.
• Prepare and file U.S. federal and state tax returns (individual and business).
• Complete quarterly estimated tax payments and payroll/sales tax filings when required.
• Review financial data to ensure compliance with U.S. tax laws and regulations.
• Assist with tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities and improve financial efficiency.
• Communicate with clients or team members regarding missing documents or tax-related questions.
