Windows and VMware Administrator - Remote

Overview

As a Windows and VMware Administrator at Pythian, you will be responsible for administering, maintaining, securing, and optimizing clients' Windows server environments and VMware infrastructure, ensuring stability and performance.

In Short

• Administer Windows Server environments (2016, 2019 and later).
• Manage core Microsoft services like Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
• Support VMware infrastructure including vSphere and ESXi hosts.
• Perform monthly patching and maintain security best practices.
• Provide technical support and troubleshoot Windows and VMware issues.
• Participate in infrastructure planning and upgrades.
• Maintain documentation for system configurations and procedures.
• Coordinate with vendors for technical support.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for critical systems.
• Strong focus on customer success and problem-solving.

Requirements

• 5-8 years of IT infrastructure administration experience.
• Strong experience in Windows Server administration.
• Proficiency in VMware technologies.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting.
• Understanding of networking concepts.
• Proven experience in data centre hosting environments.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks.
• Desirable experience with cloud platforms like Azure or AWS.
• Relevant certifications are a plus.
