Tax Manager/Director - Remote

Overview

Polygon Labs is a software development company building and developing a network of aggregated blockchains via the AggLayer, secured by Ethereum. As public infrastructure, the AggLayer will bring together user bases and liquidity for any connected chain, and leverage Ethereum as a settlement layer. Polygon Labs has also contributed to the core development of several widely-adopted scaling protocols and tools for launching blockchains, including Polygon PoS, Polygon zkEVM, and Polygon Miden, which is in development as well as Polygon CDK.

In Short

• Manage all corporate tax matters for Polygon Labs.
• Build tax infrastructure, processes, and controls.
• Prepare US income tax, indirect tax, and foreign tax filings.
• Review work performed by external tax/accounting advisers.
• Manage local country tax operations and support finance teams.
• Handle tax implications of web3 specific transactions.
• Support global tax planning and transfer pricing policy maintenance.
• Engage with cross-functional teams to understand tax impacts.
• Conduct internal tax audits and provide recommendations.
• Lead tax reviews during M&A transactions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of international and corporate tax experience.
• Extensive experience in international tax matters.
• Prior crypto accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
