Senior Python Developer - Remote

Overview

We’re looking for a fully remote (EU only) senior Python Developer to build a modular, extensible Python library that automates common data transformation tasks and streamlines data preparation workflows, to reduce the time and effort data scientists spend on preprocessing activities for AI/ML applications within the Earth Observation space.

In Short

• Build Python-based workflows for large-scale geospatial and meteorological datasets.
• Work with cloud-native formats like Zarr and COG.
• Develop workflows integrating multiple satellite and model datasets.
• Implement automated CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
• Carry out performance benchmarking and code optimisation.
• Write documentation and create usage examples.
• Collaborate with other developers and domain experts.
• Contribute to internal LLM tooling and automation.

Requirements

• Strong Python development skills for data processing.
• Experience with cloud-native data formats and parallel processing.
• Confidence working with large earth observation datasets.
• Familiarity with containerisation and Linux environments.
• Fluency with Git, GitLab, and GitLab Pipelines.
• Responsive communication and high standards.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguity.
• Desire to improve government software contracting.
