Overview

We are looking for a political journalist or editor who wants to apply their craft beyond the newsroom, understanding politics, power, and narrative to turn complex realities into clear, compelling stories.

In Short

• Lead the development of high-quality donor narratives.
• Act as the primary writer and editor on key organisational outputs.
• Own and continuously refine the organisation’s core narrative.

• Produce high-quality written materials for donor and partner audiences.

• Apply strong editorial judgement to shape accurate and persuasive narratives.
• Ensure consistency, clarity, and editorial quality across all external content.
• Contribute to discussions on strategy and positioning.
• Comfortable working independently and managing your own output.

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience in political journalism, reporting, or editorial roles.
• Strong track record of published writing and editorial output.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills in English.
• High level of political literacy with the ability to synthesise complex issues.
• Experience writing for different audiences.
• Comfortable working remotely across time zones.
