As a Senior Software Engineer at Oportun, you will be a key member of our engineering team, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining sophisticated software solutions in achieving the charter of the engineering group.

In Short

Contribute to the end-to-end delivery of complex software applications.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate business needs into software solutions.
Provide technical leadership and guide the team in architectural decisions.
Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
Drive the evolution of current tools and applications.
Take ownership of customer issues and ensure system reliability.
Lead multiple features and projects, keeping stakeholders informed.

Requirements

Extensive proficiency in Java Programming Language.
5+ years of experience with Spring Boot and Microservices.
5+ years of experience with relational databases and SQL.
2+ years of experience with document style databases like MongoDB.
2+ years of experience in Kubernetes environments.
Experience with automated testing and achieving high code coverage.
Experience in web application development and RESTful APIs.
Minimum 6 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree.
Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
Experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS or Azure.
