Overview

This position is eligible for full-time remote work within the United States. Candidates must have significant expertise in US nuclear concrete and steel design, as well as in-depth experience with ANSYS.

In Short

  • Subject matter expert in civil structural design.
  • Resolve technical issues and coordinate with interdisciplinary stakeholders.
  • Propose innovative design solutions for complex tasks.
  • Design Nuclear Safety-Related and Non-Safety-Related structures.
  • Interface with NuScale Licensing for regulatory efforts.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Develop and review technical documents and reports.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required.
  • Must be eligible to work under Department of Energy regulations.
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required; advanced degree preferred.
  • P.E. license strongly preferred.
  • Extensive experience with ANSYS and structural design.
  • Familiarity with engineering codes such as ASCE, ACI, and IBC.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and timelines.
  • General knowledge of related fields for multidisciplinary teamwork.
  • Problem-solving and adaptability skills required.
  • Experience with safety culture and quality assurance standards.
  • Computer programming skills preferred but not required.
