Fabric Structure Pattern Designer - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Fabric Production Designer to join our team. In this role, you will ensure that our fabric production, specifically the fabrication of shade and rain membranes, is equipped with the necessary design materials to produce accurate and high-quality structures.

In Short

• Produce fabric patterns & shop drawings.
• Chart the fabrication process.
• Produce CAD patterns and CNC cutting files.
• Collaborate with Design to understand overlapping processes.
• Lead fabricators’ understanding of project assembly.
• Review past project pattern processes.
• Maintain technical documentation for company standards.
• Keep open communication channels between team members.
• Understand and modify work process flow as needed.
• Contribute to institutional learning and growth.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years in awning, tent, sailing, or shade structure fabrication.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of fabric fabrication processes.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Advanced proficiency in CAD software.
• Experience with Rhinoceros 3D and SketchUp.
• Mathematical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Experience in a peer-review environment.
• Ability to visualize in 3D.
• Experience with fabric structures is a plus.
