Overview

Nevados is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to oversee utility-scale and distributed generation solar project design, focusing on managing construction deliverables for solar power arrays.

In Short

• Perform structural analysis on the tracker system using internal tools and structural FEA software (RISA-3D).
• Calculate wind demands on the tracker structure using ASCE 7.
• Coordinate and manage project IFP (construction drawings) deliverables with the engineer of record.
• Attend project meetings with Sales and customers to provide updates.
• Provide construction administration support for ongoing projects.
• Review geotechnical reports and design foundation piles.
• Collaborate with other project engineers in the design process.
• Assess site information to select suitable product types based on conditions.
• Contribute to product development with a thorough understanding of the product.
• Identify and resolve construction challenges during installation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience (2+ years) as a Project Engineer in utility-scale solar tracker projects.
• Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, focusing on solar tracker design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and RISA-3D.
• Preferred proficiency in L-Pile for pile design.
• Ability to understand basic Geotech principles.
• Proficiency in using Excel tools.
• Familiarity with civil engineering topography principles.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
