Senior Cyber Event Analyst - Remote

Overview

NBCUniversal’s Cyber Defense Operations team is responsible for providing cyber threat intelligence, event analysis, incident response, and threat hunting for all areas of NBCUniversal in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, and agile fashion. The Senior Cyber Event Analyst is responsible for analysis, escalation, and initial response actions of security events and alerts to incidents.

In Short

• Analyze and respond to security events and incidents.
• Utilize technical expertise to assess and remediate cyber threats.
• Triage and scope security alerts across multiple platforms.
• Document evidence throughout the incident life cycle.
• Contribute to the creation of SOAR playbooks and runbooks.
• Work on operational tasks related to Cyber Operations.
• Provide mentorship to junior analysts and interns.
• Identify operational gaps and propose solutions.
• Maintain detailed reports on analysis activities.
• Be available to work shifts including overnight and weekends.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT or Cyber Security field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in Cyber Defense.
• Hands-on experience with SOC and incident response functions.
• Strong knowledge of security analysis frameworks.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and well organized.
• Experience with scripting (Python preferred).
• Relevant certifications in Cyber Security.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructures (AWS, GCP, Azure).
