Finance Manager - Remote

Overview

Max Retail is on a mission to empower independent retailers by creating a platform that seamlessly connects unsold inventory with a global network of demand. As the first finance hire beyond the CFO, you will play a foundational role in building the internal finance function.

In Short

• Own and evolve the company-wide operating model for strategic decision-making.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Build and maintain cash flow and scenario models across B2B and D2C revenue streams.
• Analyze unit economics, CAC, LTV, margin trends, and channel performance.
• Support the month-end close process with outsourced accountants.
• Manage vendor payment approvals and expense tracking.
• Partner with sales, marketing, and ops to forecast demand and optimize pricing.
• Drive the implementation of tools for accurate financial reporting.
• Develop dashboards for key company and department-level KPIs.
• Prepare materials for board meetings and fundraising activities.

Requirements

• 4–6+ years of progressive finance experience in startups, FP&A, investment banking, or consulting.
• Strong financial modeling and Excel/Google Sheets skills.
• Experience with both B2B and D2C business models preferred.
• Familiarity with SaaS or consumer product KPIs and reporting frameworks.
• Operationally minded, highly analytical, and comfortable with ambiguity.
• Self-starter with strong ownership mindset and bias for execution.
