Chief Financial Officer (CFO) - Remote

Overview

We are hiring a CFO to lead the finance and accounting function for a U.S.-based multifamily owner/operator. This role owns financial statements, monthly close, cash management, budgeting/forecasting, reporting, and controls across multiple properties and entities. The right candidate is tech-forward and excited to modernize finance through automation, AI, and API-driven integrations.

In Short

• Own timely, accurate close and delivery of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
• Ensure complete bank/GL reconciliations and documented processes.
• Produce property/portfolio reporting including budget vs. actual.
• Maintain daily cash visibility and manage payment cadence.
• Lead annual budgets and reforecasts for various expenses.
• Track project budgets, spend, and ROI support.
• Manage covenant reporting and coordination with CPA teams.
• Support affordable housing reporting and compliance.
• Lead and develop offshore accounting staff.
• Implement and optimize workflows using AI tools and automation.

Requirements

• Experience in finance and accounting leadership roles.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting and compliance.
• Proficiency in budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Experience with cash management and financial controls.
• Ability to implement tech solutions for finance modernization.
• Strong leadership and team development skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience in multifamily real estate is a plus.
• Familiarity with Section 8 and municipal compliance.
• Ability to work with offshore teams effectively.
