Overview

Mama Money is a growth stage fintech startup working to help migrant workers in South Africa send money home. We are looking for a Senior Java Developer to join us on a new banking project for an initial 12 month period (could be extended).

In Short

• Join a small team responsible for building out a banking product.
• Focus on back-end system development.
• Utilize a technology stack of Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and MariaDB.
• Work with Amazon Web Services technologies.

Requirements

• Strong working understanding of Agile and Scrum mechanics.
• Experience with Java and related technologies.
• Familiarity with MariaDB and AWS services.
• Knowledge of testing frameworks like Junit and Mockito.
• Proficiency in using tools like Jira, Confluence, and Git.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in building scalable applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Experience in fintech is a plus.
