Overview

The key role of the Mad Dash Field Engineering Technician is to provide field-based support of customer installations, commissioning and assist with troubleshoot/repair of energy monitoring systems that include: electrical, gas, and water. This position requires frequent overnight travel throughout the month combined with a local field schedule. Travel schedule will be as frequent as 75% of time overnight in one month.

  • Install smart thermostats and telecommunications hardware.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hardware issues on-site.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC standards during installations.
  • Maintain professional demeanor with clients and contractors.
  • Travel up to 75% overnight for project needs.
  • Proficient in using technology for reporting and communication.
  • Track job progress and inventory items used.
  • Comply with safety standards and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Associates Degree or Trade School Certificate preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of field experience in a related role.
  • Experience with electrical and mechanical components.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems and low voltage cable installation.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various environmental conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively.
  • Knowledge of Modbus and BACnet protocols preferred.
