Communications Coordinator - Remote

Overview

The Communications Coordinator will serve as a critical implementer of Local Progress’s communications strategy, supporting day-to-day communications needs and public brand.

In Short

• Support the organization’s communications strategy.
• Manage network communications including emails, social media, and website.
• Assist in producing written and visual content.
• Develop communications strategies for campaigns and projects.
• Provide support to local elected officials and staff.
• Track membership activities and support storytelling infrastructure.
• Cultivate relationships with media outlets.
• Assist in graphic design and branding efforts.
• Ensure consistency in organizational voice and visual identity.
• Travel to in-person events at least twice a quarter.

Requirements

• 3 years of strategic communications experience.
• Strong understanding of branding and visual communications.
• Experience with graphic design platforms, preferably Canva.
• Strong writing and editing skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate effectively with a remote team.
• Strong interpersonal skills and relationship-building abilities.
• Commitment to social, racial, and economic justice.
• Experience with online campaigns and advocacy tools.
