Overview

KoBold Metals is a mineral exploration company using AI to explore for the metals we need for our transition to a low-carbon economy. KoBold’s business is discovering, defining, expanding, and developing mineral resources, and KoBold’s objective is to achieve a step-change improvement in exploration success: we aim to discover more tier 1 resources, faster, and with fewer failures.

In Short

• Build predictive models to identify ore-forming processes.
• Develop scientific computing and statistical methods for exploration.
• Work with geoscientists to create geologic predictions.
• Integrate various data types into proprietary data systems.
• Create visualizations for model performance evaluation.
• Collaborate with external partners and stakeholders.
• Help accelerate discovery of critical battery metals.
• Contribute to the development of software exploration tools.
• Guide field programs based on data analysis.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with Python’s data science packages.
• Knowledge of collaborative software development practices.
• Experience with cloud computing resources.
• Advanced degree in physical sciences, engineering, computer science, or mathematics.
• Ability to explain technical problems to domain experts.
• Experience leading technical teams in scientific approaches.

• Experience with geospatial data and machine learning is a plus.
