Infrastructure Engineering Lead - Remote

Overview

We are looking for a senior technical leader to take on the role of Infrastructure Engineering Lead. This role is critical to unifying and evolving ICEYE’s infrastructure landscape, covering both on-premise and cloud environments. The successful candidate will lead the merger of two infrastructure teams and drive alignment across technologies and workflows, ensuring performance, security, and scalability across our global platform. This position sits at the heart of our platform strategy, working in close collaboration with our Developer Enablement and DevOps functions.

• Lead the consolidation of two existing infrastructure teams into a single, high-performing unit.
• Design and implement a unified infrastructure roadmap spanning on-premise systems and AWS cloud.
• Partner closely with Developer Enablement and Software Engineering teams.
• Oversee core components including Kubernetes, Istio, Rancher, and VxRail.
• Work with Security and IT to integrate systems using Okta for IAM.
• Drive infrastructure as code, monitoring, and observability standards.
• Champion best practices in CI/CD, disaster recovery, and system reliability.
• 7+ years of experience in infrastructure or platform engineering roles.
• Proven track record in leading teams through transformation projects.
• Excellent communication skills with a collaborative approach to leadership.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in infrastructure or platform engineering roles.
• At least 2 years in a technical leadership or management position.
• Deep hands-on expertise with AWS Cloud services.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Istio, Rancher, and on-premise infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure automation, networking, and security best practices.
• Experience integrating cloud and on-prem identity systems using Okta.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, or satellite technology environments is a plus.
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud strategies and edge computing is a plus.
• Previous involvement in developer enablement is a plus.
