Automation Engineer - Remote

Overview

JLL is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to design, develop, and implement automation control systems for various industrial processes and warehouse distribution equipment, focusing on maximizing equipment reliability and operational performance.

In Short

• Design and develop control systems and software programs.
• Implement and optimize automation processes.
• Maintain and troubleshoot control systems and machinery.
• Train and mentor Automation Apprentices.
• Monitor MHE metrics and partner with maintenance/operations.
• Facilitate Root Cause Failure Analysis.
• Communicate technical issues with building leadership.
• Drive continuous improvement projects.
• Work with various engineering and operations teams.
• Adapt to a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering field or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience with PLC-controlled automation.
• Experience with robotics work cells and control systems.
• Proficiency in Ladder Logic and structured programming.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and adaptability.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience in continuous improvement methodologies.
• Advanced proficiency in technical documentation.
