Overview

JENSEN HUGHES has a hybrid job opportunity for a Senior Fire Protection Engineer in the DMV area with experience in life safety code consulting, sprinkler systems, fire detection and alarm systems, and passive fire protection.

In Short

• Conduct design review and commissioning services for fire protection systems.
• Evaluate designs for compliance with codes and owner’s intent.
• Provide technical assistance for project statements of work.
• Apply fire safety engineering principles to design challenges.
• Evaluate existing facilities for compliance and recommend improvements.
• Perform calculations related to fire safety systems.
• Support building management with fire system inspections.
• Propose updates to fire protection codes and standards.
• Analyze impacts of new code adoptions.
• Communicate effectively with clients and project teams.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in fire protection and life safety systems.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
• Excellent report writing and interpersonal skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
