Freelance Content Proofreader - Remote

Overview

IXL Learning, developer of personalized learning products used by millions of people globally, is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Content Proofreader to join our team. In this role, you will accurately proofread new web content to be added to our site. You will also input learning standards into spreadsheets, ensuring the content is organized correctly. You might be a great fit if you are a natural perfectionist, and your personality leans towards meticulous and thorough work, with keen attention to detail.

In Short

• Proofread educational content for accuracy, spelling, grammar, punctuation and consistency
• Input text from standards documents into in-house spreadsheets to support standards alignment projects
• Use your sharp eye for detail to compare website text and PDFs side by side to ensure accuracy
• Rapidly implement edits to ensure our content is of the highest quality

Requirements

• Excellent attention to detail is required; prior proofreading/editing experience is preferred
• Must be proficient with Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of HTML formatting is a plus
• Availability for up to 10 hours per week; possibly more depending on projects
• Ability to work independently, meeting weekly deadlines
• Passion for improving education through technology
