IP Docketing Specialist - Remote

Overview

An IP Docketing Specialist is needed to support a growing intellectual property practice, ensuring accurate management of patent-related due dates and information.

In Short

• Maintain accurate databases of due dates for patent matters.
• Review incoming client mail for relevant patent information.
• Process and forward information regarding docket dates.
• Enter due dates into docket databases.
• Annotate entries as necessary.
• Review PTO EFS filing receipts and update databases.
• Prepare reports for attorneys and staff.
• Follow up on daily dockets to ensure due dates are met.
• Assist other docket specialists with accuracy checks.
• Communicate updates to relevant parties.

Requirements

• 3+ years of patent prosecution docketing experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. Patent and Trademark Office procedures.
• Experience with docketing software (CPI, Inprotech, Foundation IP).
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with PAIR and international IP law databases.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
• Clear communication skills.
• Additional U.S. patent prosecution experience is a plus.
• College degree preferred.
