Tiny House Architect or Planning Engineer (Part-Time, Remote)

Overview

We are looking for you: a career starter, master's student, digital nomad, or architect on parental leave or with a part-time job.

We offer a 100% remote part-time job in project management and planning of minimalist houses (in accordance with LP 1-4 HOAI).

IndiViva is a consulting and planning company founded in 2018 that operates independently of location, helping people realize their Tiny House projects. Tiny Houses are residential buildings with a usable area of up to 50m2 that are often transportable. Our clients are primarily private individuals looking to build a small house or provide their property for the construction of Tiny Houses. We plan and manage projects and accompany our clients from feasibility checks to planning and implementation. We regularly collaborate with selected German manufacturers of high-quality mini houses.

In Short

• Coaching and consulting for Tiny House enthusiasts and property owners
• Needs assessment and creating requirement profiles for Tiny Houses and properties
• Regular legal checks to determine if properties are suitable for building a small single-family house
• Coordination and negotiation with building authorities nationwide, especially in BaWü
• Design planning of Tiny Houses, modular houses, and mini houses in 2D and 3D up to approx. 50m2 of living space
• Development of concepts for small Tiny House settlements
• Planning of building plots with multiple Tiny Houses and necessary infrastructure
• Preparation and submission of building applications as the responsible designer
• Coordination of external specialists from surveying or civil engineering
• Advisory support for builders and IndiViva partners during implementation remotely (no construction management!)
• Continuous involvement in optimizing structures and documenting processes

Requirements

• Building authorization as an architect in Germany (chamber member) or
• Completed bachelor's degree in architecture or
• Other qualifications that grant you the "small authorization" according to LBO §43(4)
• At least 1 year of professional experience in service phases 1-4, preferably in private single-family house projects (internships sufficient)
• Ideally, experience in independently creating (and submitting) building applications for single-family house projects
• Good understanding of German building planning and construction law (16 LBOs), at least the LBO BaWü
• Experience in personal customer contact and supporting builders
• Ability to self-organize well in a remote setting
• Proficient in digital tools (Slack, Notion, Zoom, Google Drive)
• Work according to targets, take responsibility, and find a way to complete assigned tasks independently
• Recognize difficulties in a customer project and independently develop solutions
• Empathetic and confident demeanor towards authorities, IndiViva partners, and private clients, finding the right tone depending on who you are communicating with
• Fluent in German at a native level (C2)
• Residence in Germany, preferably in BaWü
