Indigenous Youth Roots (IYR) is a national Indigenous youth-led organization founded in 2008, dedicated to empowering Indigenous youth and fostering their leadership within vibrant communities. IYR collaborates with various communities to provide programs, grants, and opportunities that are rooted in Indigenous knowledge and practices. The organization is guided by seven core principles: Reciprocity, Innovation, Accountability, Reclamation, Advocacy, Resurgence, and Solidarity. IYR prioritizes a healthy work-life balance, offers flexible working arrangements, and is committed to creating an inclusive and supportive workplace that responds to the needs of its employees and the communities it serves.
