Claims Adjuster - Remote

Overview

The Claims Adjuster is responsible for providing partners with exceptional claims handling services, applying prior claims handling knowledge from experience in the insurance industry, particularly with public entities and public schools. This position offers remote work flexibility while being located in one of Hylant's Ohio offices.

In Short

• Investigate coverage, determine liability, and negotiate settlement of claims.
• Determine and initiate subrogation and salvage recoveries.
• Settle and make payments on assigned claims.
• Plan and schedule work for claims handling.
• Work independently with senior staff assistance as needed.
• Communicate effectively with customers, claimants, and witnesses.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Claims experience required; public entity and/or public-school claims experience preferred.
• Exceptional attention to detail and clear communication skills.
• Organized and efficient time management.
