Overview

The Wurundjeri Liaison Action Officer is responsible for building relationships, facilitating meetings, and managing cultural projects within the Chain of Ponds Collaboration, ensuring the integration of cultural values in the Moonee Ponds Creek catchment.

In Short

• Fixed Term 12 months Contract, Part time 15.2 hours per week
• Salary of $97,099.24 (pro-rata) plus Superannuation
• Accountable to the WWCHAC Policy and Partnerships Unit Manager
• Facilitate meetings of the CoP Cultural Heritage Working Group
• Plan and deliver cultural projects
• Advocate for cultural heritage uplift
• Secure funding for future projects
• Build and sustain relationships with stakeholders
• Prepare agendas, minutes, and reports
• Share learnings and contribute to community capacity building

Requirements

• Experience in project management
• Knowledge of community development principles
• Understanding of Indigenous communities and decision-making processes
• Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
• Demonstrated skills in communication, negotiation, and advocacy
• Current driver’s licence
• Awareness of cultural rights legislation in Victoria
• Knowledge of Indigenous water rights (desirable)
