Senior Accountant - Remote

Overview

The Senior Accountant will provide accounting support to major accounting areas for HousingPlus, including general ledger accounting, and account reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fundraising.

In Short

• Responsible for month end close procedures, including developing and maintaining reports and files on account balances.
• Maintain general ledger accounts, create monthly close journal entries.
• Prepare complete balance sheet and income statement account analyses in a timely manner.
• Prepare monthly reconciliation of revenue accounts related to each government contract.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliation and credit card account reconciliation.
• Assist with audits, to include providing reconciliations, preparing schedules, and organizing files for review.
• Work as a back-up to an AP staff.
• Review and reconcile federal and state quarterly tax returns.
• Manage payment submittal for payroll benefits.
• Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience in accounting and finance roles.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards is a plus.
• Strong communication skills.
