Performance Copywriter - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a part-time Performance Copywriter with a strong background in direct-response marketing to spearhead the strategy and development of HJC’s copy for three key areas:

In Short

• Own the quiz funnel: Develop quiz concepts, hooks, headlines, and question flow to engage potential customers and boost completion rates.
• Lead email strategy: Plan and execute email campaigns to move prospects through the funnel—welcome series, cart abandons, re-engagements, etc.
• Ad concept creation: Collaborate with designers and the growth team to develop engaging, scroll-stopping ads for platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
• Optimize for performance: Leverage A/B testing, analytics insights, and user feedback to refine quiz copy, calls-to-action, and segmentation messaging.
• Write high-impact copy: Craft subject lines, preview text, and body copy that encourage opens, clicks, and conversions.
• Direct-response focus: Write concise, attention-grabbing copy optimized for conversion, clearly highlighting value propositions and calls-to-action.
• Data-driven decisions: Use analytics tools and conversion tracking to identify opportunities, measure performance, and iterate on copy strategies.
• Collaborative mindset: Work closely with the broader marketing team and designers to align copy with visual assets and campaign goals.
• Manage multiple projects: Balance priorities and deadlines effectively, ensuring high-quality deliverables on time.
• Research & best practices: Stay up to date with industry trends, direct-response strategies, and emerging platforms to keep our copy cutting-edge.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional direct-response copywriting experience, preferably in performance marketing or conversion-focused roles.
• Proven track record of creating copy that drives measurable conversions and revenue (portfolio of relevant work required).
• Strong command of A/B testing methodologies, data analysis, and key performance metrics (e.g., CTR, CVR, CPA).
• Excellent writing skills with an eagle eye for detail—grammar, clarity, tone, and style.
• Collaborative mindset with experience working cross-functionally (designers, marketers, product managers).
• Ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
