Solar Design Engineer - Remote

In Short

• Produce rooftop or ground-mount photovoltaic layouts using Aurora, BrightPath, and/or Everbright.
• Identify factors affecting the scope of work including project cost and installation complexity.
• Create and maintain construction plans using AutoCAD and internal design tools.
• Determine the optimal point of interconnection based on existing electrical infrastructure.
• Complete electrical load calculations to determine feasibility of various scopes of work.
• Manage a regional pipeline of Construction Engineering tasks.
• Work closely with Regional Branches to establish communication between Engineering and Field Operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) or similar.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional design experience in the solar industry.
• Experience with AutoCAD (or equivalent).
• Previous experience managing projects from initial design to installation.
• Experience with permitting processes with local authorities.
