The Financial Times is looking for a Washington DC-based producer to join our growing audio team in the US. This is an exciting time to join the FT as it focuses on growing listeners through its slate of premium shows.

In Short

• Join the FT's audio team as a producer for the Swamp Notes podcast.
• Work three days a week, focusing on a chat show featuring FT reporters and editors.
• Collaborate with a talented team including the show host/editor and executive producer.
• Strong news instinct and ability to work under tight deadlines required.
• 12-month fixed term contract with flexible working days.
• Book guests and assist with writing preps and gathering materials.
• Record discussions in the DC studio and publish episodes weekly.
• Coordinate with legal on copyright and libel risks.
• Develop relationships with reporters for upcoming news coverage.
• Assist the US audio team as needed.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as an audio producer or editor.
• Skilled in editing on DAWs, with Pro Tools and Descript knowledge preferred.
• Experience in political journalism or producing chat podcasts is a plus.
