Lead Investment Accounting Advisor - Remote

Overview

The Lead Investment Accounting Advisor will be part of the Accounting Advisory team at F&G which is responsible for ensuring compliance with GAAP and Statutory reporting for F&G and its insurance carriers. This position will be responsible for evaluating, providing accounting advice, and documenting F&G’s accounting positions related to its onboarding of strategic new investments in addition to the existing investment portfolio, derivative and hedging strategies, and support with other new projects the Company may take up.

In Short

• Evaluate and document appropriate GAAP and Statutory accounting and reporting requirements for strategic assets.
• Work closely with portfolio managers to analyze complex investment structures.
• Analyze hedge accounting for derivatives used in risk management.
• Monitor investment and derivative related GAAP and Statutory accounting guidance updates.
• Disseminate the impact of new accounting guidance throughout the organization.
• Support the creation and maintenance of investment related accounting policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting required.
• 5-7 years experience.
• CPA highly preferred.
• Recent Sarbanes-Oxley experience preferred.
• Experience researching accounting guidance or previous accounting policy experience.
• Extensive knowledge of investment related areas for GAAP and Statutory accounting preferred.
• Big 4 experience preferred in insurance audit practice or accounting advisory role.
