Overview

The Core Teaching Faculty for the online site of the Counseling Program at The Family Institute at Northwestern University is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, advising students, and participating in various departmental activities.

In Short

  • Teaches at least 4 courses quarterly in a virtual digital campus
  • Serves as course lead on one course annually
  • Advises students on academics and scholarly pursuits
  • Provides timely grading and feedback
  • Supports the department’s mission for student success
  • Participates in faculty-led committees
  • Engages in scholarship activities
  • Participates in program evaluation and admissions operations
  • Contributes to departmental accreditation activities
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Earned CACREP-accredited Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision
  • Experience teaching graduate level courses
  • Licensure or licensure eligibility in home state
  • Strong organizational skills and cultural competence
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong time management and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to mentor and advise students effectively
  • Experience supervising graduate students in clinical settings
  • Strong commitment to diversity and inclusion
