Accountant (Financial Accounting) - Remote

Overview

The Accountant will be responsible for managing and recording all ongoing business transactions in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger accounting, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.

• Book and record all ongoing business transactions in financial accounting.
• Monitor account management, handle invoicing, and conduct dunning processes independently.
• Perform general accounting and administrative tasks, producing regular reports and business evaluations for management.
• Process travel expense and credit card statements, ensuring timely and accurate handling of all expenses.
• Coordinate collaboration with tax advisors and auditors, especially during annual financial statements and tax audits.
• Continuously develop accounting processes, promote their digitalization, and ensure efficient, automated, and secure workflows.

Requirements

• Successfully completed a degree or training in economics, business administration, finance, or a comparable qualification.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in financial accounting, ideally also in payroll accounting.
• Knowledge of HGB, tax law, and social security law, with experience in dealing with tax advisors and authorities.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and experience with Datev companies online.
• Strong numerical understanding and ability to present complex issues clearly.
• Ability to work across teams, communicate clearly and effectively with various departments, with discretion being paramount.
• Very good knowledge of German and good English skills.
• Willingness to come to the Hamburg office several days a week.
