In Short

• Lead machine learning modeling work on the Empower Credit Card product.
• Own creating and improving credit risk models.
• Collaborate with credit, product, and finance teams.
• Build machine learning models with large scale data sets.
• Design strategies on underwriting, marketing, and customer experience.
• Work closely with engineering to implement models in production.
• Develop data standards and analytics pipelines.
• 6+ years of experience in data mining and machine learning.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
• Experience with ML packages and deep learning toolkits preferred.

Requirements

• BS degree in engineering, computer science, finance or mathematics.
• 6+ years industry experience in data mining, machine learning, statistical analysis, and/or predictive modeling.
• 2+ years at a bank or FinTech in predictive modeling or credit analytics preferred.
• Deep understanding of statistics and machine learning techniques.
• Strong programming skills in Python with intermediate to advanced knowledge of SQL.
• Experience with ML packages: scikit-learn, LightGBM, XGBoost, SparkML.
• Knowledge in deep learning and experience with DL toolkits preferred.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work with cross-functional partners.
