Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with AWS Expertise - Remote

Overview

We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with AWS expertise to optimize database performance and infrastructure for a short-term project.

In Short

• 8+ years of experience as a DBA, specializing in PostgreSQL & AWS RDS.
• Strong background in query optimization, indexing, and data partitioning.
• Experience with AWS services (Aurora, Athena, RDS, etc.) for database infrastructure.
• Ability to analyze database resource utilization and implement cost-effective solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and collaboration experience with DevOps & Developers.
• Available part-time (no 24/7 on-call duty required).

Requirements

• Analyze database structure and schema to identify inefficiencies.
• Optimize queries and indexing to improve response times (goal: ≤10s, minimum ≤30s).
• Implement data partitioning strategies for PostgreSQL tables.
• Audit AWS RDS configurations and recommend cost-effective improvements.
• Address IOPs spikes and elasticity issues to enhance resource utilization.
• Configure AWS infrastructure for scalability and performance stability.
