Product Designer - Remote

Overview

Defense Unicorns is seeking a Product Designer for UDS Fleet Management, focusing on remote deployment tools for disconnected field operations. You'll design mobile and tablet experiences for managing Kubernetes infrastructure in high-stakes environments.

In Short

• Collaborate with teams to create high-fidelity prototypes for mobile and tablet interfaces.
• Conduct UX research and testing to gather feedback and improve designs.
• Define product concepts and execute visual designs for applications.
• Create and maintain user personas for mission operators.
• Collaborate with developers to design intuitive user interfaces.
• Document UI solutions and contribute to the component library.
• Work with other product teams for seamless integration.
• Understand disconnected operations and DoD constraints.
• Travel expectations of 10-15%.
• Adapt to evolving responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of product design experience, with 1-2 years in enterprise mobile/tablet applications.
• Strong knowledge of Android and iOS design patterns.
• Proficiency in Figma and responsive design techniques.
• Understanding of accessibility fundamentals.
• Ability to articulate design decisions to various audiences.
• Experience working remotely with distributed teams.
• Portfolio showcasing mobile and tablet enterprise software design.
• Familiarity with Tailwind CSS and progressive web apps.
• Understanding of Kubernetes concepts is a plus.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
