Systems Engineer SME - Remote

Overview

DecisiveInstincts, LLC has an immediate opportunity for a Systems Engineer SME requiring a Top Secret clearance and the ability to work remotely. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of efficient LAN/WAN networks using TCP/IP principles, including hardware management, security administration, and troubleshooting. You will evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance network performance and cost-effectiveness.

In Short

• Apply TCP/IP routing and switching principles to practical solutions
• Perform multi-level troubleshooting and root-cause problem solving
• Configure, maintain, and upgrade LAN/WAN design and topology
• Install/configure LAN/WAN hardware and maintain wiring closets
• Manage Cisco and other hardware, including routers and switches
• Monitor with standard network management and packet analysis tools
• Plan, implement, and administer perimeter security and firewalling
• Evaluate new technologies for network infrastructure

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience with firewall configuration and load balancing
• Understanding of network protocols including TCP/IP, UDP
• Expert knowledge of BGP and EIGRP
• Proficient in VPN design and configurations
• Expert knowledge of TCP/IP and troubleshooting
• Expert-level troubleshooting and problem-solving
• Experience in Agile organization using Scrum, XP, Kanban, SAFe
