Software Engineer - Gauntlet - Remote

Overview

Gauntlet leads the field in quantitative research and optimization of DeFi economics. We manage market risk, optimize growth, and ensure economic safety for protocols facilitating most spot trading, borrowing, and lending activity across all of DeFi, protecting and optimizing the largest protocols and networks in the industry. As of April 2025, Gauntlet manages risk and incentives covering over $42 billion in customer TVL.

Gauntlet continually publishes cutting-edge research that informs our risk models, alerts, and analysis, and is among the most cited institution — including academic institutions — in terms of peer-reviewed papers addressing DeFi as a subject. We’re a Series B company with around 75 employees, operating remote-first with a home base in New York City.

Gauntlet App:

Join a newly formed product pod focused on the Gauntlet App — our next-generation dApp that allows users to deposit and withdraw into vaults directly. This role is part of a critical initiative to evolve our dashboard into a product directly connected to revenue. You'll be working on a high-impact project tightly aligned with Gauntlet’s core strategy, helping build a robust, user-facing experience at the heart of our business.

In Short

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of full-stack features for Gauntlet’s decentralized application.
• Partner closely with front-end engineers to deliver cohesive user experiences.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers.
• Engage in systems design and architecture discussions.
• Participate actively in code reviews and design sessions.
• Collaborate with product managers and researchers to translate requirements.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software issues.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in software development.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript.
• Proven ability to design and implement user-centric applications.
• Solid experience with backend systems and APIs.
• Familiarity with Python or language agnostic.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively and mentor team members.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills for distributed team collaboration.
