Senior Mainframe Server Administrator - Part-time - Remote

Overview

The Senior Mainframe Server Administrator is the principal IBM and 3rd party software product architect and an expert technical resource for those software systems. This position incorporates some functions and responsibilities of a Software Architect and Software Specialist.

• Part-time position (20 hours a week)

• Evaluate, design, implement, and maintain IBM software and third-party software
• 20+ years of experience with mainframe software management
• Mentor and guide staff in mainframe implementation and testing
• Monitor VTAM & TCPIP for optimal performance
• Install and customize IBM and third-party software
• Write/read/debug programs in batch and online environments
• Expert knowledge of Disaster Recovery Best Practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Requirements

• 20+ years of experience with mainframe software management
• Experience with VTAM & TCPIP sub-systems
• Ability to perform multiple activities simultaneously
• Experience using TSO, ISPF, SDSF
• Experience with IP Routing and subnet structures
• Experience writing in Assembler, REXX, and CLISTs
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Working knowledge of z/OS, CICS & JES2
• Experience with DB2, DR & Contracts
