Advisor II, Environmental and Social Standards (ESS) - Remote

Overview

The Environmental and Social Standards (ESS) Advisor supports the effective operationalization of CRS Environmental and Social Safeguard Standards across Green Climate Fund (GCF)–funded programs and activities.

In Short

• Integrate environmental and social safeguard (ESS) requirements into project design.
• Conduct ESS screening in line with Green Climate Fund standards.
• Draft and contribute to ESS Annex 8 and other project annexes.
• Support the development and implementation of Environmental and Social Management Plans.
• Monitor compliance at activity and sub-project levels.
• Compile and quality-check ESS monitoring data.
• Integrate baseline ESS requirements into MEAL systems.
• Contribute to donor reporting and audits.
• Provide technical guidance and training to project teams.
• Coordinate with various teams to ensure ESS compliance.

Requirements

• Familiarity with Green Climate Fund Environmental and Social Safeguards.
• Knowledge of donor compliance and reporting requirements.
• Strong analytical skills for risk assessment.
• Effective written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to uphold principles of integrity and accountability.
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Working knowledge of SharePoint.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of French, Spanish, or Arabic is a plus.
