Overview

The MidSOUTH Trainer/Assessor in Child Welfare is responsible for delivering training to resource families and assessing prospective adoptive families. This role involves collaboration with DCFS and community professionals, requiring extensive travel and flexible hours.

In Short

  • Deliver Resource Family training curriculum.
  • Complete Home Study models for families.
  • Conduct field training for new DCFS staff.
  • Coordinate training activities in assigned regions.
  • Supervise student interns in field sites.
  • Provide case management education and mentoring.
  • Facilitate communication with DCFS area.
  • Work collaboratively with Partnership Universities.
  • Maintain compliance with background checks.
  • Adapt training delivery using technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field.
  • Experience with children and families.
  • Training and certification in Triple P preferred.
  • Experience in curriculum development.
  • Strong supervisory skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to travel in-state and occasionally out-of-state.
