Development Manager - Remote

Overview

Creative Commons is looking for a writing-savvy, detail-oriented, and proactive Development Manager to manage and help grow our portfolio of funders. The Development Manager will report to the Director of Development. They will be primarily responsible for grant writing and administration, prospect research, and donor administration and communications.

In Short

• Support implementation of the annual revenue plan and fundraising activities.
• Oversee preparation, submission, and management of proposals and reports.
• Conduct thorough prospect research of current and prospective funders.
• Manage the fundraising database and systems.
• Support management of donor communications.
• Conduct cultivation calls and meetings.
• Collaborate to improve proposal and administration workflows.
• Travel for in-person donor meetings as needed.
• Assist with other fundraising projects.

Requirements

• 5+ years nonprofit experience focused on grant writing and management.
• Knowledge of prospecting practices and grantmaking cycles.
• Ability to build relationships with donors.
• Outstanding writing and communication skills.
• Familiarity with Salesforce, Excel, and Asana.
• Experience with email marketing platforms.
• Ability to balance deadlines and projects.
• Collaborative work style.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Interest in open access issues.
• Ability to work in a remote environment.
