System Engineer Datacenter - Virtualization, Storage & Backup - Remote

Overview

We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and open-minded System Engineer Datacenter - Virtualization, Storage & Backup for our client in Zurich/Biel. As a System Engineer, you will be responsible for the operation and further development of the modern datacenter infrastructure at our client's site.

In Short

• Operation and development of virtualization environments (VMware vSphere / vCenter / vCloud Director, Hyper-V)
• Administration and optimization of storage systems (Pure, HPE, Dell)
• Support of backup and recovery solutions (Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik, NetApp)
• Ensuring availability, performance, and data security in datacenter environments
• Participation in migrations and modernization (e.g., DC consolidation, cloud integration)
• Troubleshooting and 2nd/3rd level support in the infrastructure area

Requirements

• Several years of experience as a System Engineer in the IT service provider environment
• Solid knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware vSphere/vCenter, Hyper-V)
• Experience with enterprise storage (SAN, NAS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel)
• Solid knowledge of backup and recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault)
• Understanding of IT infrastructure operations (network, compute, security basics)
• Experience with cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, Hybrid Cloud, Azure Arc)
• Knowledge of automation & infrastructure as code (Ansible, Terraform)
• Experience in monitoring & capacity management (PRTG, LogicMonitor)
• Basic knowledge in networking (routing, switching, firewall basics)
• Fluent in German and good knowledge of English
