Founded in 2001, Common Future works to close the racial wealth gap. We are building a future where all people—no matter their race and class—have power, choice, and ownership over the economy. Our current economic system does not work for everyone. Generations of Black and Indigenous communities and other communities of color have been and are currently intentionally locked out of wealth and power. Centuries of policies that systematically favor a select few cause persistent economic inequities that hold us all back.

In Short

• Lead the organization internally and ensure effective communication across departments.
• Oversee finance, people operations, and IT/Systems functions.
• Manage annual budgeting processes and strategic plans.
• Guide the financial strategy for Common Future and Community Credit Lab.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.
• Evaluate and improve the organization-wide equity strategy.
• Support the development of staff and teams.
• Directly supervise key operational leaders.
• Implement cybersecurity protocols and risk management strategies.
• Foster an inclusive and equitable workplace culture.

Requirements

• Track record of executive leadership experience.
• Experience with financial and accounting software.
• Commitment to dismantling unjust systems.
• Exceptional strategic thinking skills.
• Expertise in guiding nonprofit organizations.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity.
• Preferred education: MBA, JD, CPA.
• Project management experience.
• Emotional intelligence competencies.
