The Attorney for Family Law & Victims of Crime at Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida provides direct legal representation to victims of domestic violence and related issues, aiming to ensure equal access to justice for underserved communities.

In Short

• Provide direct legal representation to victims of intimate partner violence and other related issues.
• Assist clients with holistic civil legal matters affecting self-sufficiency.
• Responsible for all phases of casework including interviewing, discovery, and legal research.
• Prepare for court hearings and mediations.
• Draft legal documents and pleadings.
• Supervise paralegals and manage case progress.
• Conduct outreach presentations and participate in community coalitions.
• Comply with program requirements and attend mandated meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work in a supportive and flexible environment.

Requirements

• Member of the Florida Bar in good standing.
• 2 years of family law litigation experience preferred.
• Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
• Skilled in laws and dynamics of intimate partner violence.
• Technology skills on platforms such as Microsoft Office 365 and Teams.
• Effective communication skills.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Capacity to exhibit sensitivity and a trauma-informed approach.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Must pass a background check.
