Remote Senior Cloud Engineer

Overview

We are looking for the right long-term fit. This position is initially structured as a 6-month contract engagement with the possibility of conversion to a full-time role based on performance and business need. The Senior Cloud Engineer is a hands-on technical leader responsible for the design, reliability, and evolution of CloseKnit’s Azure cloud platform.

In Short

• Design, implement, and manage complex Azure cloud infrastructure.
• Define and maintain scalable, resilient, and secure cloud architectures.
• Deploy and manage Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.
• Optimize system performance, availability, and reliability.
• Partner with Security Analysts to implement and maintain security controls.
• Automate operational tasks and workflows using Azure services.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to enable AI-driven capabilities.
• Provide technical leadership through mentorship and design reviews.
• Maintain clear documentation of cloud architectures.
• Stay current with Azure services and cloud engineering trends.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering or infrastructure engineering.
• 4+ years working with Microsoft Azure in production environments.
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation.
• Solid understanding of cloud architecture patterns and microservices.
• Experience with DevOps and SRE practices.
• Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Python and PowerShell.
• Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
• Proven ability to design and operate highly reliable, secure, and scalable cloud platforms.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
