NetZeroCities Programme Finance Officer - Remote

Overview

The NetZeroCities Programme Finance Officer plays a central role in the financial coordination of a large, multi-partner EU funded programme supporting cities on their path to climate neutrality.

In Short

• Fixed term contract for 12 months, with possibility to extend/convert into permanent.
• Support financial planning, forecasting, and reporting for the NetZeroCities Specific Grant Agreements.
• Monitor budgets and expenditures, identifying variances and supporting corrective actions.
• Work with Programme Managers and Cluster Manager to manage financial workflows.
• Develop and maintain financial management tools and processes.
• Support budget execution and contracting for the City Expert Support Facility.
• Contribute to internal budgeting processes and monitor budget performance.
• Support funder audits and ensure compliance with funding rules.
• Facilitate timely and accurate grant and supplier payments.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders effectively.

Requirements

• AAT qualification or a bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 3+ years’ experience in accounting or financial project management.
• Experience working in the not-for-profit sector.
• Experience with international grant funded projects.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Experience with EU/Horizon grant funding is desirable.
• Fluent English; an additional European language is an advantage.
• Comfortable using collaborative digital tools.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
